enterprises focusing on progress in poor or disadvantaged countries
·
An institute teaching
children the wonders and excitement of practical science
·
Tower and industrial

·
Enthusiastic and fearless

We have already begun to
devise a grant system for people attempting to create businesses in third word
countries with the purpose of helping the local communities - i.e., not
companies to export good to the US, but companies that actually benefit a local
community, similar to Nick's brick company and water well works in Uganda. We encourage everyone who was
touched by the tragedy, or witnessed the video, to help our cause by
contributing a dollar to Berg’s memory. Thank you, Nick Berg Memorial Fund Foundation Further questions can be directed to Doug Strickland at stories@nickberg.org
1.
The Nick Berg Scholarship
is awarded to a graduating individual from Nick's Alma Mater, Henderson High
School. This Award will be bestowed by committee and presented to a student who
has been an active participant of the music
program and shows enthusiasm for learning, especially in the sciences. The recipient of this award will
have generous spirit, positive attitude, strong relationship with peers and
teachers, and a steadfast desire for learning and success. 2. Grants for new American enterprises focusing on progress
in poor or disadvantaged countries:
We will accept nominations and recommendations and submissions for our
grant. Candidates must be citizens, or
organizations from the United States. We wish to grant money to the most promising and far reaching idea
whose objective will benefit the local people, communities, or infrastructure in
a country with poor economic, political, or general prosperity. The recipient(s)
of our grant will be the favorite choice(s) selected by a team of researchers, entrepreneurs,
and humanitarian focus groups. All ideas will remain the property of the
originator. Any submission may be
published for further consideration by third party benefactors. 3. Online Educational
Facility:. We are currently exploring the
implementation of an open-source science-focused web based education
resource. The main contributors will be
children and young adults who build the site by contributing with their own
science experiments and discoveries.
Experts, moderators, and facilitators offer advice and guidance. Bergology.com will host and collaborate
with world renown institutions. Our goal is to encourage children not only to feel more
comfortable with different aspects of science, but to experience the enjoyment
and self-fulfillment inherent in teaching other youngsters about science. Our site will offer practical curriculum and
fun experiments for children, teachers, and parents. 4. Tower and safety innovation
and design: We will complete a manual based on the
experiences of Berg’s company, Prometheus Methods Tower Service. We encourage the expertise of the broadcast engineering community. 5.
Enthusiastic and fearless efforts to improve cultural
and social understanding: We
will encourage and favor ideas with a fundamental tone of learning and understanding
other cultures. 6.
We are to give a national award in his memory to enterprising young inventors
or business people.
We will also create a learning institute based on Bergology. Nick was always
devising ways to teach children science, even when he was in Africa doing
research and employing 15 people in a construction effort. We would
like to make an online repository for creative thoughts.
